De UAgFarm-faciliteit is opgericht om baanbrekend onderzoek uit te voeren op het gebied van techniek en wetenschap. Het primaire doel is om barri\u00e8res te overwinnen en de technologie voor binnenkweek te verbeteren. Om dit te bereiken gebruikt de faciliteit ultramoderne hulpmiddelen, waaronder kunstmatige verlichting, sensoren voor omgevingen in de lucht en de wortelzone van het gewas, computervisiecamera's voor de gezondheid van planten, een omgevingscontrolesysteem en meters om het verbruik van hulpbronnen te controleren. Tot de doelstellingen behoren dan ook het uitvoeren van probleemoplossend en innovatief onderzoek, het bieden van praktijkgerichte leerervaringen voor studenten en het onderwijzen van telers en het publiek over de fijne kneepjes van binnenkweeksystemen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #193330;\">Bij UAg zijn Heliospectra groeilampen ge\u00efnstalleerd in het drielaagse verticale binnenkweeksysteem in een van de kamers die ook is voorzien van automatische klimaatregeling, vruchtbaarheidsregeling en lichtregeling. Het gekozen verlichtingsspectrum (IZAR spectrum met PAR + FR) is geschikt voor binnenkweek. Daarnaast heeft elk niveau een onafhankelijk luchtdistributiesysteem. Dit systeem, op maat ontworpen door CEAC van de Universiteit van Arizona, verbetert de uniformiteit van de omgevingslucht en voorkomt tipverbranding in de planten.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #193330;\">Dr. Murat Kacira legt uit dat hun onderzoek alternatieven voor het ontwerp van luchtdistributiesystemen heeft ontwikkeld die optimale groeiomstandigheden kunnen leveren. Deze alternatieven verbeteren de uniformiteit van de luchtomgeving en voorkomen effectief slaverbranding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #193330;\"><em>\u201cOnze CFD-simulaties en experimentele studies bevestigden dat verticale luchtstroom effectiever is dan horizontale luchtstroom. Hierdoor kunnen onderzoekers zich richten op het bestuderen van de effecten van luchtstroming en andere omgevingsparameters op de ontwikkeling van planten in een binnenkwekerij. De Heliospectra lichtbalken hebben met succes de lichtintensiteit en uniformiteit geleverd die nodig waren voor het onderzoek met sla- en basilicumgewassen en voldeden aan de verwachtingen van de projecten die werden uitgevoerd in de verticale boerderijfaciliteit.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #193330;\"><strong>Lopend onderzoek <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #193330;\">Het huidige doel van het onderzoek op de UAg Vertical Farm is het optimaliseren van omgevingsvariabelen. Deze inspanning richt zich op het verbeteren van de effici\u00ebntie van het gebruik van hulpbronnen en het modelleren en kwantificeren van het watergebruik van gewassen in real-time in het verticale
